Professor Emile Bojesen was elected as the Director of GuildHE Research and took up his post in January 2025, for a period of five years. Before this, he was the Chair of Cathedrals Group Research & Enterprise.

In his day job he is Director of Research & Innovation for the University of Winchester and Professor of Philosophy and Education. Before moving into university level leadership, Emile was Faculty Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange for the Faculty of Education, as well as REF 2021 Unit of Assessment Lead for Education. He was one of the Authorised Submitters for REF2021.

His theoretically oriented research is dedicated to the varieties of educational experience and he has edited more than half a dozen books and special issues of journals, as well as publishing more than 40 articles and book chapters. His research is best represented by his book, Forms of Education.
